Got questions? Click on each question to see the answer below.
What are eyelash extensions?

An advanced technique that lengthens and thickens eyelashes. They are single strands of eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. I use only quality eyelashes. You will feel the difference.

How will they look and feel? Will they damage my own lashes?

When applied by a skilled technician they will look completely natural, only much longer and fuller. They will feel like your own lashes.

They are not damaging as long as they are applied properly!

What are the differences between Synthetics, Silks, Minks, and Volume lashes?

At Lustful Lashes we only use Polyfiber Blend Synthetics, Silks and 100% Minks, please read below in regards to their differences

❥Synthetic: (plastic synthetic):

Pro: They come in every desired length and curl and diameter (thickness). They are the least expensive and are widely available and the most common lash used . You get maximum drama with plastic synthetics.

Con: Very hard, not too much flex, heavy, cause damage if not very well maintained, do not last as long as lighter weight extensions and require more frequent fills. They tend to lift, flip around and lean to one side or the other as they grow out because of their heavy weight.

❥Poly Fiber Blend Synthetic (AKA faux mink):

Pro: Like plastic synthetic, these come in every length and curl but have more flex and are a bit more natural looking. Some have called this higher quality synthetic eyelash extension a Mink. It is not mink at all and cannot compare.

Con: They require fills more frequent like plastic synthetics they will twist and turn as they grow out.

❥Silk: (silk blend):
Pro: They are quite soft and flexible. They come in all lengths and curls and hold well. Fills are not required as often as synthetics. They are light and hold well. They can look natural or applied for drama.
Con: They don’t provide as much drama as plastic synthetics and are more vulnerable to kinking.

❥Mink (100% authentic fur):

Pro: Very light weight lash, longest lasting, attractive and natural looking. It is like wearing feathers. Ultra comfortable and fills are usually only recommended 4-5 weeks.
Con: Not available in many salons, often imitated and mink is a more expensive eyelash extension period.

❥Russian Volume Lash(3d lashes):

Pro: This method involves applying 2-6 very fine lashes (minks+silks mixed) to each one natural lash, that means 300+ extensions per eye!
Con: over the top dramatic!

How long will my appointment take?

I take an artesian approach with my customers and will not rush your appointment. You can expect your first appointment to take approximately 1 hour. Expect fills to take from 45mins-1hour  depending on how long it has been since your previous appointment.

How long will my eyelash extensions last?

When properly applied and cared for, your eyelash extensions will last for 4-6 weeks. Please see the aftercare section on how to properly care for your lashes to maximize longevity.

What is a fill and how often should I get them?

After your initial set of extensions you will receive instructions on how to care for your extensions. Fills are done every 2-4 weeks depending on how well they are cared for and how quickly your lashes grow. Fills take a shorter time to do and the prices reflect that.

Will I lose some of my lashes?

Due to the natural growth cycle of your lashes you will find your natural lashes fall off every 60-90 days. I recommend getting a touch up every two to four weeks. Keep in mind on average you lose approximately 3-5 eyelashes per day.

Can I use eyelash growth products on my extensions?

Lash growth products that contain steroids change the composition of your lashes and accelerate your lash shedding cycle, therefore I cannot guarantee the outcome. Natural lash growth products containing peptides are wonderful and will have no adverse effect on the longevity of your extensions.

Will I still need to use mascara with my extensions?

No, you will not need to use mascara with your extensions, but for nights that you want extra drama you should use a lash extension safe mascara (I carry these).

With proper care and continuous fills, your lashes can last indefinitely.
  • Do not get your lashes wet for the first 2 hours.
  • Do not use a spa, sauna or pool for the first 24 hours. The lashes need that amount of time to properly bond.
  • Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes.
  • Do not use eyelash curlers with your extensions. With proper application you will not need them.
  • Only use oil free makeup remover.
  • If your lashes are tangled or crossed over, use the Spoolie given to you at your appointment to gently brush them straight and put them in place. In between fills you can purchase a longer life coating to extend the wear of your lashes.
  • Use only mascaras that are lash extension safe. No oil based or waterproof mascaras. We carry extension safe mascaras. Only apply your extension mascara to the tips of your lashes.
  • When removing eye makeup it is best to use only oil free makeup remover and then follow up with an eyelash wash to remove any residue.
After showering avoid rubbing lashes, it best to blot them with a towel and let them air dry.
  • You can also dry the lashes by using a hair dryer on the cool setting and blowing them dry from the bottom up. It makes them curler and fluffy.
  • Proper hygiene is important; please keep lashes clean by regular washing.
Use care when applying facial and eye creams to avoid the lash line. Too many oil based products can break down the adhesive.
  • iLash recommends touch-up appointments every 2-4 weeks to maintain your new lashes.
